October 2

1942 - Enrico Fermi established the first self-sustaining nuclear reaction.

Fermi was an Italian, but he fled Italy in the 1930's because his wife was Jewish...Lucky for the world, the Germans and Italians were too stupid to keep some of there greatest scientists.

Had they kept them, and used them wisely, it's extremely likely the Axis Powers would have had the Atom Bomb long before the Americans. Which may have resulted in a much different result to WWII...A terrible result for mankind.

1187 - Jerusalem fell to al-Malik en-Nasir Salah-ud-Din Yusuf (Sultan of Egypt, Syria , Yemen , and Palestine), after being controlled by Christian crusaders for the previous 88-years.

The Crusaders may have been able to defeat various Muslim forces in battle, but they could never overcome the logistical nightmare of ruling the Middle East...The reality of this event was simply that it gave rise to the second Crusade.

1491 - Ferdinand and Isabella, King and Queen of Castile and Aragon, laid siege to the Moors of Granada.

The 'Catholic Kings' were getting closer to reclaiming all of Spain for European
Civilization...I hope you realize this region was under the boot of Islam for over 700-years - longer than it's been ruled by Christians.

1919 - President Woodrow Wilson suffered a stroke, which left him partially paralyzed.

This event began the presidency of Mrs. Edith Wilson...First female President of the U.S.

If you don't understand this reference check out the story of 'Mrs. Wilson's Stewardship.'

1974 - China, in a statement at the United Nations, declared they favored Arabs using oil as a weapon.

Of course they did...Reason #247,011 to dissolve the stinking U.N.

1999 - The Brooklyn Museum of Art opened its much-hyped 'Sensation' exhibit, which had drawn controversy because of New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani's move to cut off city funding to the museum. (Giuliani objected to some of the artwork, including a portrait of the Virgin Mary decorated with elephant dung.)

Truthfully, I have no problem with a museum having such 'art exhibits'...If they are 100% privately funded.

The problem is, there are very few museums that aren't supported with taxpayer funds, and many are also non-profit organizations paying no taxes.

THE AMERICAN PEOPLE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO FUND SUCH HORSE-SHIT MUSEUMS!!!!!

If they want to display crap, let them do so as long as they pay for it themselves...I'm sure this makes me a radical though.
